I have a simple question about collision with a wall by a round object.
Ball and wall collision.
With breakout collision detection becomes more complex than pong because there are significantly more objects that the ball could collide with and its possible even with a small dt time delta that a fast ball could collide with multiple bricks in a single frame.
Subtracting the radius from one edge s width and adding it onto the other gives us the impression of the proper collision detection the ball bounces off the walls as it should do.
The code makes sense but it doesn t actually work.

Just add a static rigidbody 2d to all the walls.
1 you haven t assigned a physics material to your ball.
It works with the two paddles but does not work with the ball itself.
You need the bounciness 0 in order to make the ball bounce on the walls.
